PCOS

PCOS is a complex condition that affects many women worldwide. It is characterized by hormonal imbalances that can lead to a variety of symptoms. Irregular or absent periods are a common hallmark of PCOS. If you find that your menstrual cycle is unpredictable or your periods have become infrequent, it may be an indication of underlying hormonal irregularities.

Weight gain or difficulty losing weight can also be associated with PCOS. Hormonal imbalances can affect your body’s metabolism, making it more challenging to maintain a healthy weight. If you have noticed unexplained weight gain, especially around your waistline, despite your efforts to eat well and exercise, it could be linked to PCOS.

Acne and excessive hair growth are other symptoms that can be associated with PCOS. Hormonal imbalances can cause an increase in androgen levels, leading to the development of acne and unwanted hair in areas such as the face, chest, or back. These changes in your skin and hair growth patterns can be distressing and impact your self-esteem.

Beyond these common symptoms, PCOS can also manifest in other ways. You may experience mood swings, anxiety, or depression due to hormonal fluctuations. Insulin resistance, a condition where your body has difficulty processing sugar, is also prevalent among PCOS patients and can contribute to weight gain and increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
