Before you book —
everything you need to know.
You have questions before committing to a $300 appointment. That is completely reasonable. Here are honest answers to everything patients ask before their first visit.

Women’s Preventive Care is designed for women who want more depth, more time, and more personalized care than the traditional system provides. If you are navigating perimenopause, menopause, hormonal imbalances, weight management challenges, or preventive gynecology — and you want a clinician who actually listens — you are in the right place.
We see women of all ages, from young adults seeking preventive gynecology and contraception management to women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond navigating menopause and hormonal transitions.
On a limited basis, yes. Our primary focus is women’s health, and all online bookings are for women. However, we do see a select number of male patients in specific contexts:
Fertility — couples seen together: Basic fertility evaluations are available for couples. Luciana will assess both partners as part of a comprehensive fertility workup. This is one of the areas where her background in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) is most directly applicable — understanding ovarian reserve, hormonal patterns, cycle timing, and male factor fertility as part of one integrated picture.
Partners of existing patients: Male partners may be seen for sexual health, testosterone optimization, and hormone evaluation when relevant to the couple’s overall care. This includes tirzepatide therapy for men — used not only for weight management but specifically to improve sexual function and fertility outcomes, where metabolic health and hormonal optimization are closely connected.
Male patients and couples cannot book online. Please contact us directly first:

Women’s Preventive Care is a cash-pay practice — we do not bill insurance for consultations. But before you compare our $300 fee to a copay, understand what you are actually comparing.
An insurance-based visit will never give you this:
· A full hour — insurance drives the 15-minute appointment model. It is not a choice; it is the economics of a system that reimburses by volume.
· A holistic plan — insurance reimburses diagnoses and procedures, not time spent understanding your nutrition, sleep, stress, supplements, metabolic health, hair, libido, and how all of it connects. That work is simply not reimbursable.
· A provider who treats you as a whole person — the insurance model rewards throughput. The concierge model rewards outcomes. These are not the same thing.
You are not paying $300 instead of a copay. You are paying for something that does not exist inside the insurance system — a full, unhurried, evidence-based, whole-body consultation that connects every dot in your health picture. No insurance-based practice can offer this, not because they don’t want to, but because the system does not allow it.
What insurance can still cover: Most labs and pharmacy-dispensed medications we prescribe can be billed directly to your insurance. We always clarify costs before your visit — no surprises.
Yes — FSA and HSA cards are accepted for your consultation fee. A detailed itemized receipt can be provided at your request for reimbursement submission or FSA/HSA records.
If your FSA/HSA card does not work at checkout, you can pay with a regular credit or debit card and submit the itemized receipt for reimbursement through your FSA/HSA administrator.
Yes. Telehealth appointments are available and are priced the same as in-person visits — $300 for your first consultation.

Your first visit is a full 60 uninterrupted minutes. Luciana reads your chart and any labs before you arrive. The conversation covers your full health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, goals, and any concerns you have been carrying — including ones you may not have felt comfortable raising elsewhere.
After your visit, you will receive a follow-up summary through your SigmaMD patient portal and a plan tailored specifically to you. You can reach Luciana directly through the portal for any follow-up questions.
Your first visit is a 60-minute consultation focused entirely on getting to know you — your health history, symptoms, goals, labs, lifestyle, and concerns. It is a conversation, not a procedure.
What is included:
· A comprehensive review of your health history and current symptoms
· Review of any existing labs or medical records you bring
· Discussion of your goals and what has or hasn’t worked before
· Ordering of any new labs or imaging Luciana recommends
· A preliminary care plan tailored to your situation
· Time for all your questions — without rushing
What is NOT included in this visit:
· Pelvic exam
· Pap smear
· Physical exam procedures
These are separate services with their own appointment type and cost. If you need a Pap smear, IUD insertion, or pelvic exam, please mention this when booking or in your pre-visit message so we can schedule the appropriate appointment.
This structure allows your first visit to be fully dedicated to understanding you as a whole — not rushed through a checklist.
We understand that plans change. Cancellations and rescheduling are accepted with at least 24 hours notice and are fully refunded.
To cancel or reschedule, contact us as soon as possible:
· Call or text: 407-863-8394
· WhatsApp: message us directly
Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or no-shows are non-refundable, as that time was held exclusively for you.
We use SigmaMD as our patient portal for secure messaging, care plans, and health records. After your appointment is confirmed, our team will set up your patient account and you will receive instructions to access your portal.
You can access SigmaMD two ways:
· Web browser: patient.sigmamd.com (no download needed)
· Mobile app: available on the App Store and Google Play
If you have any trouble accessing your portal, contact us directly and we will help you get set up.
No referral needed. You can book directly online without any prior authorization, referral from another provider, or insurance approval.
Simply book your consultation online, and our team will follow up within 1-2 business days to welcome you and walk you through everything you need to prepare for your first visit.
Yes. Luciana works with both bioidentical and conventional hormone formulations — and she will recommend what the evidence supports for your specific situation, not what is trending.
Estradiol and progesterone: Most patients can use commercial pharmacy formulations — FDA-approved, well-studied, and often covered by insurance. These are bioidentical by nature.
Testosterone: No testosterone formulation is currently FDA-approved for women, so compounded testosterone is used. Available formulations include:
· Pellets — inserted subcutaneously, providing steady hormone release over 3–6 months
· Creams — applied topically for flexible dosing adjustment
· Troches — dissolved under the tongue for rapid absorption
Testosterone injections are not offered due to the risk of virilization — the development of masculine characteristics from supraphysiologic levels. Luciana’s approach prioritizes physiologic dosing and patient safety.
All compounded medications are out-of-pocket. Costs are discussed transparently before prescribing.
Yes — in the truest sense of the word. Women’s Preventive Care looks at your health as a whole system, not a list of isolated complaints.
Beyond hormones and prescriptions, your care plan may include guidance on:
· Nutrition and metabolic health
· Supplements and vitamins targeted to your specific deficiencies
· Physical activity recommendations based on your hormone status
· Sleep and stress optimization
· Hair loss — often hormonal and addressable
· Weight management — addressed through hormonal, metabolic, and behavioral lenses
This is fundamentally different from a practice that writes a prescription and sends you on your way. Every system in your body is connected — and that is how your care is approached.
In your first year, most patients are seen approximately every 3 months — four visits total. This allows Luciana to monitor your response to treatment, adjust your plan as needed, and ensure you are progressing toward your goals.
Follow-up appointments are $150 and are shorter and more focused than your initial visit — designed to review labs, assess how you are feeling, and refine your plan.
After your first year, visit frequency is adjusted based on your individual needs and stability. Some patients move to twice yearly; others prefer quarterly ongoing.
Compounded medications are custom-formulated by a specialized pharmacy to your exact prescribed dose. They are used when no commercial option meets your clinical need — most commonly for testosterone in women, since no FDA-approved female testosterone product exists.
An important note about compounding pharmacies: Not all compounding pharmacies are equal — and the base, ingredients, and quality of a formulation vary significantly between pharmacies. This matters clinically. The expected results of a hormone or peptide therapy depend heavily on the specific formulation used. Luciana has worked with a partner compounding pharmacy to develop specific formulations with the correct bases and components for the therapies she prescribes. For this reason, Luciana can only manage your care if your compounded medications come through our partner pharmacy. If a compounded medication is obtained elsewhere, results may be unpredictable and proper clinical management is not possible. This is not a business preference — it is a clinical one.
Compounded medications are out-of-pocket and not covered by insurance. Costs are always discussed transparently before prescribing. Commercial pharmacy options are used whenever clinically appropriate — which is often the case for estradiol and progesterone.
Women’s Preventive Care offers a select range of peptide, amino acid, and enzyme therapies — used as part of a comprehensive, personalized care plan when clinically appropriate.
Currently available:
· GHK-Cu (Copper Peptide) — available as troches and topical formulations. Supports tissue regeneration, skin health, hair restoration, and anti-aging. Injectable formulations pending regulatory approval.
· PT-141 (Bremelanotide) — for low libido and sexual dysfunction in women. Acts centrally on melanocortin receptors to enhance sexual desire and arousal.
· Glutathione — a powerful antioxidant supporting detoxification, immune function, skin brightness, and cellular health.
· NAD+ — supports cellular energy, DNA repair, cognitive clarity, and metabolic function. Particularly relevant in hormonal aging and fatigue.
IV infusions are coming soon — including nutrient and wellness infusions. If this interests you, mention it at booking and we will keep you updated.

If you are not sure whether your concern falls within our scope, message us before booking.
These are not bureaucratic requirements. They are clinical ones — grounded in protecting your health and allowing Luciana to care for you responsibly.
A current mammogram — within the past 12 months — is required before initiating hormone replacement therapy. This is non-negotiable.
Luciana has personally witnessed too many breast cancer diagnoses to feel comfortable beginning HRT without this baseline. A waiver is not offered. This requirement exists because she cares about your long-term health — not just your hormones today.
Comprehensive hormone and metabolic labs are reviewed before or at your first visit. Luciana may order additional labs based on your history and goals. These can often be billed to your insurance directly.
If you have recent labs from another provider, please bring them or send them ahead — they are always useful context.
The quality of your care depends on the quality of the information Luciana has. Please share your full health history — including supplements, medications from other providers, and any concerns you may have felt uncomfortable raising elsewhere. This is a judgment-free environment.
Hormone therapy is not a one-time prescription — it is an ongoing process that requires monitoring, adjustment, and partnership. Patients who commit to follow-up appointments (every 3 months in year one) consistently get better outcomes. We ask for that commitment in return for Luciana’s.
